Luke
2
1 Now in those days, a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be enrolled. 2 This was the
first enrollment made when Quirinius was governor of Syria. 3 All went to enroll themselves, everyone to his own city. 4 Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to David’s city, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David;
5 to enroll himself with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him as wife, being pregnant.
6 While they were there, the day had come for her to give birth. 7 She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped
him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a feeding trough, because there was no room for them in the inn. 8 There were shepherds in the same country staying
in the field, and keeping watch by night over their flock. 9 Behold, an angel of the Lord stood by them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and
they were terrified. 10 The angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be to all the people.
11 For there is born to you today, in David’s city, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 This is the sign to you:
you will find a baby wrapped in strips of cloth, lying in a feeding trough.” 13 Suddenly, there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly army
praising God, and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest, on earth peace, good will toward men.”

Attending a Christmas mass or service can be especially comforting for those who are homesick, and Tokyo is home to multiple churches that offer
multilingual sermons.
The Tokyo Union Church (www.tokyounion.org) is an ecumenical congregation located in Shibuya Ward that will hold services on both Dec. 24 and 25. And Central Bible Church (www.chuo-seisho.org) in Toshima Ward will host a prayer service with an
English interpretation on Dec. 20, a gospel service on Dec. 23 and a candle service on Dec. 24. Those looking for something less solemn may want to
check out Lifehouse Tokyo (tokyo.mylifehouse.com) in Roppongi,
which is holding a carolling service on Dec. 20 — complete with after party — and a Christmas Eve Celebration on Dec. 24. Lifehouse has branches in Osaka, Fukuoka and Sendai, so keep your
eyes open for other services. If you’re searching for a place of worship in Osaka, check out Hope Chapel Church (www.hopeosaka.com), which will have a service followed by desserts on Dec. 24. There’s also J-House, which
stands for “Jesus House” (www.jhouse.tv). It will hold services on Dec. 20
and 25, but asks that you sign up beforehand. Minoh International Church (www.minohchurch.org) will host a carol service and potluck dinner on Dec. 20 and a candlelight service on Dec. 24, and St. Agnes Church (www.nskk.org/kyoto/stagnes) will hold a 9 a.m. Christmas Day service in
English. In Nagoya, GraceCity Church (www.gracecity.jp) will hold an early Christmas prayer service on Dec. 13 and another service on Dec. 25. Mikokoro International Catholic Center (www.mikokoro.com) will hold both an English Christmas Eve (6 p.m.) and Christmas
Day (10 a.m. and 3 p.m.) mass. Most churches prefer a heads up in case they are preparing food for guests, so whichever place of worship you look
into you may want to contact them ahead of time to be on the safe side.

聖書の言葉 From The Bible
十戒 The Ten Comandments
出エジプト記
20: 1~17より Exodus 20: 1~17
1 God* spoke all these words, saying, 2 “I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land
of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 “You shall have no other gods before me.
4 “You shall not make for yourselves an idol, nor any image of anything that
is in the heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: 5 you shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve
them, for I, Yahweh your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and on the fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 and showing loving kindness to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.
7 “You shall not misuse the name of Yahweh your God,† for Yahweh will not hold him guiltless who misuses his name.
8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 You shall labor six days, and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to Yahweh your God. You shall not do any work in
it, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your livestock, nor your stranger who is within your gates; 11 for in six days Yahweh made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day; therefore Yahweh blessed the Sabbath day, and made it holy.
12 “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the
land which Yahweh your God gives you.
13 “You shall not murder.
14 “You shall not commit adultery.
15 “You shall not steal.
16 “You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.
17 “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your
neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”
